I'm conducting a confidential search on behalf of a Global Consulting Firm's Forensics Practice. With an established presence in Hong Kong, the next phase of their regional expansion focuses on building specialist teams in Shanghai, covering China, and in Singapore for Southeast Asia. Once these teams are fully established, the final phase of expansion will focus on Australia, completing the firm's APAC coverage.
The Heads will be responsible for hiring a Director/Deputy, and 2-3 Associates/Analysts.
Approximately 80% of the firm's business comes from investigative assignments commissioned by US and UK law firms in support of disputes and litigation. They also engage with financial services firms and multinational corporations on matters such as anti-bribery and corruption and fraud investigations.
The firm is open to bringing on the right person and could potentially hire a Partner from a Big 4 firm. However, the challenge for such an individual may be transitioning from a large firm — where business leads are abundant — to a smaller consultancy that emphasises business development, marketing, establishing the brand, and generating new clients. For someone eager to build a team from the ground up, with the autonomy to select key hires, this opportunity would be a strong fit.
The budget for this hire is open, provided it aligns with P&L expectations. The first-year target is for the new team to break even, meaning compensation levels will be competitive and designed to attract top talent without jeopardising profitability. The ultimate success of the team will depend on the new hire's ability to drive business growth and build a successful team around them.
The Regional Head, based in Hong Kong, is interested in speaking with forensics professionals who have a strong reputation, proven experience, and an established network across the China or Southeast Asia markets.
