They are seeking an Australia-based Associate Director to lead and deliver strategic advisory work for clients, covering both domestic issues and international markets.

The role will focus on helping clients understand and navigate political, regulatory, geopolitical, reputational, and broader strategic risks in Australia and globally.

This is a senior client-facing position combining advisory and project leadership with relationship management and business development.

Role Purpose

To lead high-quality strategic advisory work for Australian clients, providing insight and practical advice on complex domestic and international issues. The Associate Director will take ownership of client engagements, contribute to the growth of key relationships, and work with colleagues internationally on cross-border and global assignments.

Advise clients on Australian political, policy, regulatory, reputational, and commercial developments
Lead global and cross-border projects for Australian clients, drawing on the firm’s international network and capabilities

Build and maintain senior networks across Australian business, government, policy, and advisory communities
Manage senior client relationships and identify opportunities to deepen and broaden existing engagements
Contribute to business development, including originating opportunities, developing proposals, and participating in senior client discussions

Candidate Profile

12–18 years’ experience in strategic advisory, geopolitical risk, corporate intelligence, government affairs, policy, management consulting, or a related field
Strong understanding of the Australian political, regulatory, business, and policy environment
Experience advising senior stakeholders within corporate, investment, government, or professional services environments
Experience working on international or cross-border issues, ideally with exposure to multiple global markets
Strong analytical judgement and the ability to turn complex issues into commercially relevant advice
Established network across Australian business, government, policy, or advisory circles
Strong client relationship skills, with evidence of contributing to business development and account growth

This is a senior advisory role for someone who combines a strong understanding of Australia with an international outlook. The role offers the opportunity to advise clients on issues at home while also leading projects connected to their interests and operations globally. It would suit an established adviser looking for greater ownership of client relationships, project leadership, and commercial development within an international platform.
