Overview

Our client is an international advisory firm focused on strategic intelligence, disputes support, and complex investigations across emerging and frontier markets.

They are seeking an Associate Director to lead coverage from the Middle East into Africa, with particular relevance to Russia-linked and post-Soviet networks operating across the region.

The role combines client advisory, intelligence-led delivery, and commercial development.

Role Purpose

To originate and deliver high-value intelligence and investigative work across Middle East–Africa corridors, with a focus on politically exposed, commercially sensitive, and cross-border matters.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Lead complex due diligence, investigations, and strategic intelligence projects across the Middle East, Russia/CIS, and Africa
  • Build and maintain discreet networks of sources across government, business, and advisory ecosystems
  • Advise clients on geopolitical exposure, reputational risk, and transaction-related intelligence
  • Deliver clear, high-quality written outputs under tight timelines
  • Support business development, particularly with regional investors, family offices, and advisory firms
  • Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on sensitive engagements
  • Contribute to building regional capability and mentoring junior team members

Candidate Profile
 
  • 8–12+ years’ experience in intelligence, investigations, risk advisory, or related fields
  • Strong regional experience across the Middle East, with exposure to Russia/CIS and Africa
  • Track record of delivering complex, multi-country assignments
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, investors, corporates, or legal clients
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate in relationship-driven environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Russian or Arabic language capability advantageous
