Our client is seeking a capable and motivated individual to join its Hong Kong office in a support capacity, working closely with the Head of Asia-Pacific. This is a multi-faceted role suited to someone with an interest in litigation funding, investor protection, and broader legal and commercial strategy.

Exposure to cross-border litigation, claims management, shareholder rights enforcement, settlement processes, and corporate governance will be useful, as will familiarity with dispute resolution and arbitration frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

While the scope will evolve with business needs and the individual’s experience, core responsibilities may include:
 
  • Supporting the review and assessment of litigation funding opportunities, evaluating: ​​​​​​Factual and legal merits of claims; Legal strategy and budget; Valuation of claims and potential returns; Expert opinions and supporting evidence; Enforcement and recovery considerations
  • Conducting background research on companies, jurisdictions, regulatory trends, and litigation environments
  • Preparing summaries, analysis, and presentation materials for internal and external audiences
  • Assisting with client engagement, including briefings, meeting preparation, and follow-up
  • Supporting project tracking, documentation, and internal reporting
  • Providing broader support to the APAC team across legal, operational, and commercial matters

Profile Sought

This role would suit a motivated early- to mid-career professional, or someone seeking to pivot into a more strategic and international legal-commercial context. The ideal candidate will bring:
 
  • 5–10 years of experience in legal, financial, consulting, or professional services environments
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to distil and communicate complex material clearly
  • Commercial awareness and genuine interest in litigation, governance, and dispute strategy
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional Asian languages an advantage
  • Attention to detail and the adaptability to work within a small, entrepreneurial, and international team
