Asset Tracing, Legal, & Strategic Support – Asia

Our client is seeking a capable and motivated individual to join its Hong Kong office in a support capacity, working closely with the Head of Asia-Pacific. This is a multi-faceted role suited to someone with an interest in asset tracing, enforcement, and the broader legal and commercial dimensions of cross-border disputes and litigation funding.

Experience in complex disputes, judgment enforcement, cross-border litigation, asset recovery, shareholder actions, and governance investigations will be valuable. Familiarity with tracing methodologies, legal discovery, and enforcement frameworks across jurisdictions is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities

While the scope will evolve with business needs and the individual’s experience, core responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting the assessment of litigation funding and asset recovery opportunities, including: Reviewing factual and legal merits of claims: Evaluating recovery prospects, including identification and location of enforceable assets; Analysing enforcement pathways, legal strategies, and budget structures; Coordinating external inputs such as expert evidence and asset valuation reports.
  • Conducting deep-dive research into individuals, entities, and asset holdings across jurisdictions
  • Monitoring global litigation, regulatory actions, and enforcement trends relevant to asset recovery
  • Preparing clear, structured internal memoranda and external-facing materials
  • Supporting client meetings and briefings, and coordinating follow-ups
  • Assisting in project management, documentation, and internal reporting for active and prospective matters
  • Providing general support to the APAC team across legal, investigative, and operational matters

Profile Sought

This role would suit a motivated early- to mid-career professional, or someone seeking to pivot into a more investigative, strategic, and international legal-commercial context.

The ideal candidate will bring:
  • 5–10 years of experience in legal, investigations, financial, or consulting environments
  • Exposure to disputes, judgment enforcement, asset tracing, or financial crime investigations
  • Strong research skills, including open-source and corporate records analysis
  • The ability to distil and communicate complex material to varied audiences
  • A proactive mindset, commercial awareness, and interest in litigation, governance, and recovery strategy
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional Asian languages are an advantage
  • Attention to detail and comfort operating in a small, agile, and international team environment
