A fast-growing investigations firm is seeking an Analyst to join its APAC team in Malaysia. This role offers the opportunity to work on cross-border assignments focused on reputational risk, compliance, and corporate intelligence across the Asia Pacific region.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Analysts are responsible for conducting deep-dive research and producing well-structured reports to inform clients' risk-based decisions.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Conduct public domain research on companies and individuals using open-source and proprietary tools.
  • Translate documents or information in Chinese, Vietnamese, or Bahasa Indonesia (as applicable).
  • Gather, assess, and summarise information from internal and external sources.
  • Analyse findings and present insights clearly and concisely.
  • Prepare written reports in English or a relevant local language, in line with company standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members on regional or thematic assignments.

Candidate Requirements
 
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. political science, international relations, law, journalism, or finance).
  • Fluency in Chinese, Vietnamese, or Bahasa Indonesia is essential; written and spoken English must also be of a high standard.
  • Prior experience in research, due diligence, business intelligence, investigations, journalism, or financial services is desirable.
  • Demonstrated interest in Southeast Asia and knowledge of regional dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical, editorial, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex, often ambiguous information with accuracy and sound judgment.
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and an ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and online research tools.
  • Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
