Senior Manager, Due Diligence & Corporate Intelligence – Korean
Our client is a leading advisory firm seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Manager to join their team in Seoul. This is a pivotal role with responsibility for leading investigative assignments in Japan and contributing to broader regional projects across Asia. You will be the firm’s primary point of contact in South Korea, managing client relationships, driving project delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of research and reporting.
As a senior member of the team, you will shape the strategic direction of investigations, oversee and contribute to complex due diligence and corporate intelligence assignments, and ensure the firm's methodologies and findings are of consistently high quality. You will work closely with colleagues across Asia to support cross-border projects and help develop business opportunities in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage investigative and due diligence assignments across a variety of sectors, taking ownership of project design, execution, and delivery.
Serve as the primary client contact in Japan, maintaining and growing trusted relationships with both domestic and international clients.
Direct research strategies and manage the collection, assessment, and analysis of information from public records, online sources, proprietary databases, and human intelligence.
Ensure findings are clearly and concisely communicated through well-structured, high-quality written reports tailored to client needs and objectives.
Oversee and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and quality control across assignments.
Work closely with regional colleagues to coordinate multi-jurisdictional investigations and support business development efforts in Asia.
Stay informed on relevant developments in Japan’s corporate, regulatory, and political landscape to inform investigative work and client engagement.
Requirements:
Minimum 8 years of experience in investigative research, due diligence, or corporate intelligence, preferably in a consulting, legal, or professional services environment.
Native-level fluency in both Korean and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Proven ability to lead complex investigations and produce clear, accurate, and insightful reports under deadline pressure.
Strong client-handling skills, with experience managing senior stakeholders and developing business relationships.
Demonstrated proficiency in research techniques, including use of online databases, corporate records, media sources, and human source inquiries.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail and sound judgment.
A solid understanding of the business, political, and regulatory environment in Korea and Asia more broadly.
